Loving Some Retired Products

I just couldn’t resist creating my card for this week’s Global Design Challenge (#GDP089) with some older Stampin’ Up! goodies that I still love.  The challenge asked us to create a card with three current colors: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, and Basic Black. I think the combination is really striking. So I stamped the flower with one of my older rubber stamps and colored it with Calypso Coral Blendbility alcohol markers.   Used  an embossing folder for a little dimension, and I was done.   I can’t wait to send this card to someone I love.

Blogs and Cards

So today is a day of firsts for me. After a year of dragging my feet, I’m finally working on my Cardmaking blog. This post will be #1. And I’ve participated in the Global Design Challenge–another goal I’ve had for about a year.  Last, but not least, I played around with photographing and editing my card.  All in all, this venture is a work in progress, but “yay me” for taking the initial step. I’m excited.

Just a bit about the card.  All products are Stampin’ Up!   The stamp set is one of my favorites, not just because of the beautiful floral image but also because of the sentiments.  And then there are the watercolor pencils SU has added to the repertoire.  They’re creamy, they blend well, and they are user friendly for a novice like me.

That’s enough for my first post!  I hope you weekend is a great one.
